Jack Barger, Senior Director Research Operations Vertex Pharmacueticals, has been in BioTech for the past 21 years, all at the Vertex San Diego research site. In that time he has had a verity of rolls including developing custom engineering solutions, deploying laboratory automation, and his current role in Research Operations of ‘helping scientists have more time to do science’. The commonality amongst the roles is developing a deep understanding of how things really work in the lab. Jack has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from UCSD.
